Thorrington Hall woods were open for the weekend on 27th 28th April, with the weather being very overcast and windy, the bluebells having been the best they have ever been, in full colour with some white ones showing through.
Over the weekend the attendence was about 100 people each day, everyone enjoying the walk down to the bottom of the woods and then bringing them back to the church on the farm track.
Refreshments were service in the church, homemade cakes going down very well, although the weather not being the best everyone commented that it was nice to see the colour of the bluebells with an overcast sky as you could appreciate them at their best.
Our grateful thanks goes to Mr Gibbon for opening the woods for the weekend and helping raise money for the upkeep of the church, John Jinks for manning the entrance to the woods in the cold and all the ladies that helped make refreshments and manned the kitchen over the weekend.
